Custom keyboard shop ALF Studio struck a chord in the mech keys community with boards like the ALF x1, x2, x3 Renova, and DC60. The company’s latest, the x1.1 is a fully programmable tenkeyless keyboard with a futuristic look Read More
Hey, so is this buy going ahead? From talks on the ALF Discord, it looks like this has been requested to be taken down. Especially after what I've seen from people who received their board.
I'm actually VERY interested in this but the fact that the drop has been up for days with no one interested in addressing whether they're selling a WKL or standard layout (or both?) has me thinking I'll sit this one out.
Although the unique Everest White anodizing is actually good, its interesting to see this posted here since I was told this was supposed to be an exclusive group buy. But after several delays, damage on received products, and delays on replacements, i'm willing to let my spot go in the GB.
whoever is interested, willing to sell my spot in the actual (not so exclusive) groupbuy. Its grey color, brass plate with extra PCB and polycarb plate.
EDIT: will be posting on r/mechmarket
rodmcLol clearly your not into the enthusiastic keyboard group. A well made custom keyboard can easily from anywhere between 350 to 450 USD(higher if its a rare keyboard). And no one ever buys a keycap combo from keyboards like this cause we be using GMK keycaps which easily cost 139USD at least.
And most have their own preference when it comes to switches, unlike the standard cheap ones.
Sounds like people that bought into the private group buy are mad another group buy is happening before they even got their own kits yet. Also the kit that's already out in the wild has issues.
OmegaZero55crazy, that's nuts to hear. thanks for sharing that. reminds me of situations where people back a kickstarter, and a retail version ships out before the kickstarter ones.
Sorting by top comments ommits one of the top comments talking about the poor quality and failed group buy from Discord.
