When can we get the Helinox Chair Zero ?
It seems to be the lightest and the best chair. I think people keep getting confused with the Chair One, the Zero is lighter and for that reason better.
bocaI second this! I bring it on all my trail clearing trips -- sooo nice and worth the weight. My other chair is great too, 33oz Moon Lence $30 from Amazon. If someone is going to spend $70 on this Alite, they really should just spend $20 more for the Helinox Zero.
Cardamomteayep we take our two helinox zeros on every day hike and backpacking trip, eating lunch in a chair on top of that mountain makes for many wonderful trips, and many envious other hikers
The long term quality of this chair is lacking. It’s almost guaranteed to fail at the hub points. I’ve owned two and one had broken almost immediately and the other was broken, repaired and broke again. I was not happy with the durability as there are manufacturing weaknesses. Beware
I'm reading through the comments and my understanding is this:
1. The chair is not as lightweight as similar chairs at this pricepoint.
2. The chair can be found cheaper on amazon, with free shipping (and no tax for me in Texas).
I like the colors/design for the mantis-southwestern chair but I won't be joining.
HereToBuyUselessStuffCorrect. Seven people this time 'round think it's worth spending an extra $30 for the pretty colors.
For everyone else, there's the Moon Lence on Amazon for $32.
I don’t recommend this chair. After good results with the Monarch chair I picked up a Mantis as it has a more comfortable back rest. They have a design or manufacturing tolerance flaw - the legs get jammed and won’t come apart for packing back down (they don’t break, just jam solidly together). First one jammed after five minutes of sitting in it, second jammed after two minutes of testing it on a flat floor in the living room. It’s a shame because they are super comfortable. I am 185 lbs and was super gentle on the second one when testing. We love our Monarchs (we have four) and wish these were as reliable.
This was late summer of 2017 - maybe they had a bad batch?
DannyMilksLooks like the incorrect model is STILL pictured. Surely other things have come up and people can be forgetful, but it seems timely to fix the problem this time around.
