Is this chair difficult to get up out of when sitting in it? It looks pretty low to the ground..

cbigsI haven't personally contacted them but I've read blog posts about similar leg breaks happening in older models where the leg collapsed in on itself. They updated the leg design and Alite was really good in replacing the legs for those folks whose chair legs broke

So, what is the best chair in the opinion of anyone reading this question.
By best chair I don't mean a five pound chair that you carry around car camping, and use in a campground, or picnic area, or anywhere else; I mean what is the best chair that you could use to take on a backpacking trip?
Obviously the chair must be light, and compact, probably two pounds or less, but at the same time be able to support at least 250 pounds, and preferably 300, so as to have added durability over the long haul.
I know a lot of hikers are short, and slightly built guys, in the sub 200 pound range, as well as most women hikers, but there are some of us guys who are over 6 feet tall, and up in the 225 to 250 range, and some above that from what I have seen.
There have been many times where I was hiking, backpacking, kayaking, where I would have liked to have a chair to sit in while at my camp.
Usually I had to try and find a log, or to sit on some big rocks, or boulders, but that kind of got old after awhile, and there is no real comfortable position with back support.
Sometimes you can set up your hammock as a chair if you are a hammock camper, but probably still not as good as a chair.
Sometimes after taking my boots off when crossing streams, I would have liked to have had a chair that would allow me to be positioned in a more elevated position while pulling my socks and boots back on my feet.
If I could not find the right log, or rock, then laying on the ground not so efficient, or comfortable.
Even if you are in good shape, putting on your shoes gets more difficult with age. LOL
FInally, what could be better than eating your supper, and then taking a nap in the chair while in a scenic and remote spot,; with only the sounds of the wind blowing through the trees, the singing and chirping of the birds and squirrels, and the babbling of a brook to lull you to sleep?
I would love to hear back from all of you on suggestions, and recommendations for a great backpacking chair.

I'm wondering why the only poll I can find in discussions about lightweight chairs was overwhelming in favor of the helinox chair zero, but the only drops I see are for other chairs that weren't even close in the voting.

MsilverhammerI currently use a Helinox chair one for backpacking and love it, but having a chair zero that will hold 260lbs and weighs almost a pound less would be great!

I recently bought capitola blue and the old beige forage pattern from REI on the cheap. What wasn't mentioned on the REI page was that the forage is made of a heavier and thicker 450D Poly so it was much harder to get into the bag than the blue colorway. Can someone confirm if all the options are 210D ripstop?

RifledDream Hi @RifledDream - I double checked with the vendor and can confirm that all the printed chairs are 450D polyester and the solid colors are 210D ripstop nylon. I hope this helps!

Just got back from a three week TDY (Temporary Duty) overseas. (Yes I am doing reviews for all of my Massdrop stuff if you see this in multiple threads) I took my Mayfly with me strapped to the outside of my carry-on. It was invaluable during the hurry up and wait aspects of military travel when there aren't always enough seats ro comfortable seats around. I also found it useful to be able to sit next to my bunk and read in a n open bay barracks where the only furniture is your rack. Overall it went very well and I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase. I expect I sold more than a couple people on the Mayfly and on Massdrop during the trip.

Why are you posting the same thing over and over? Now I see why some are irritated with this. I'm irritated by this spam like posting. Please stop. Thanks

I just got the delivery and tried a couple of times to unfold and fold the chair.
I love the product in general, very comfortable and light weighted. But the problem is carrying bag. It is too tight and I had to try several times for the folded chair to make it fit in the carrying bag.
It took only 30 secs to unfold, but it took 5 mins to put it back in the carrying bag.
Why don't you make the carrying bag a little bit larger?
