Product Description
Made by San Francisco-based outdoor company Alite, the Meadow Mat is great for backpacking, picnicking, and any adventure on which you might encounter soggy ground. This waterproof blanket is durable, colorful, and easy to clean Read More
From the size and weight, this looks like the Large Mat on their website which is normally priced at $60 and is currently on sale for $45. Why does it show $39.99 as "normal" price?
Hey you owners- Could someone please tell me how slippery the material is? If I set it up on a slightly sloped hillside, will a sleeping bag slide downhill? Want to use it to watch movies in the park, where the slope is a few degrees. Thanks!!
Please include a Large Plaid option in the next drop.
Update: Dang, I emailed Alite and it turns out Large Plaid is permanently discontinued. :(
If anyone has a Large Plaid they would consider selling please respond!
If I were to get in on this I would want to use it, mainly, for Jazzfest in New Orleans. It usually rains every year leaving the grounds saturated. I've tried SO MANY blankets and every time as soon as you apply weight to the blanket water seeps up through. Can anyone confirm from use that this is 100% waterproof and will not seep water once body weight is applied over saturated ground?
I like to go out for a walk during lunch when I can, and with warmer weather thought it would be nice to have a picnic as often as I can. However, the nearest park to my work often is wet, or has mixed grass and dirt/mud. This seemed like a good way to go out, have a picnic, and keep my clothes clean. Finally took it out this weekend at another park to try it out and it works well. I am happy with it, and will probably end up keeping in under my desk at work, or put in a 'picnic kit' for road trips, concerts, and the like.
Things I like:
-It is waterproof.
-Folds up compactly and has a handle and two wrap around straps that can loop through the outside of a backpack.
-The corners have loops that can be staked down. Good for windy days, although I haven't needed to use that.
-I like the color.
Things that could be improved:
-The size is fine for two adults (and maybe two toddlers) to sit on and eat, but it is too small to lie down on and keep your whole body on the mat. That being said, I don't care if my feet hang off the end, but if I had a larger family or was using it for naps I would get something bigger.
-It is a little heavier than I expected. Totally fine for my purposes, or a leisurely day at the beach. But, I wouldn't take it backpacking.

it to the park today, and realized it also attaches to my bike : )
Only 37 active in this drop and all out of large...disappointing considering how many people spoke up about wanting large last time this dropped when only small was available
