All-Clad firmly believes that measuring cups and spoons shouldn’t wear out over time. That’s why they made a set from high-grade 18/10 stainless steel Read More
For this price they should have the 2 TBS and 1/8 tsp measuring spoons as well. Yeah you pay for the name no doubt the stainless sets I got at BJs do the same thing and are just as durable of a stainless steel. I guess if you are a Cuisinart completionist...
The other night I was trying to measure out a half-tablespoon of Onion powder and my All-Clad Stainless Measuring spoon wouldn't fit in the jar--it was just a tad too wide for the mouth of that bottle. Man was I bummed out! Then suddenly, it occurred to me that the 1/4 tsp might fit--and it did, perfectly! So I looked around for a recipe that only used 1/4 tsp of onion powder but couldn't find one.
Eventually I gave up and just ordered Pizza...
All-Clad are the only measuring cups I could find made in the USA. They're even made with USA steel.
EDIT: Just got um and they are NOT made in the USA, they're made in China. God damnit. Looking to sell unopened if anyone is interested.
wardhopIt would appear that the $64.90 set includes the old style measuring spoons. The newer polished spoons are sold separately for $19.95 and the measuring cups alone are sold for $44.95. To get the equivalent pairing on Amazon you'd have to order the two components (both qualify for 2-day Prime shipping). The drop saves you $1.99. So if you are not in a rush the drop makes sense.
Oooh! Received these as a gift a while back and they are the bomb--nice and heavy, perfectly polished, good feel in the hand (makes you want to measure everything twice ;- )
May seem pricey, but chances are, your kids will be handing them down to their kids.
