From Allegory, a Kickstarter-born Chicago shop dedicated to small-batch manufacturing, comes the Leather Flight Satchel. Making its official debut on Massdrop, it’s made from vegetable-tanned leather with black denim liners. Worn over the shoulder, around the back, or latched to the outside of your suitcase, it’s large enough for all of your technology including laptops up to 15 inches, a cell phone, chargers, and more. The carabiner clip is meant to clip across the strap, which is great for separating your essential carry-on items when stepping on a plane.
Note: At checkout, select a color from black, brown, and dark brown as well as one or two zipper pouches for the back panel.
About the Leather
A year after its 2012 launch, Allegory added a suite of leather goods to its existing line of pens. To produce these leather products, Allegory works directly with a tannery in Ecuador, where eco-friendly farming practices are paramount. Vegetable tanned and waterproofed, the leather is built to age well and show character over time. Still, it’s easy to restore to like-new condition with a quick treatment of neatsfoot oil.
