Based in Chicago, Allegory Handcrafted Goods is a small company dedicated to making products from smart-sourced, sustainable materials. This handsome pen is made from bog oak, a material that’s been preserved in anaerobic conditions underneath peat bogs since the dawn of the last ice age more than 5,000 years ago. With age, the wood has developed a deep black color with dark brown grain—a perfect combo for the office or study. The shape is designed for maximum comfort, too. Slim towards the tip and wider in the middle section, it offers a natural feeling in the hand. Best of all, for each pen sold Allegory will donate a portion of the proceeds to the National Forest Foundation.
Note: The base price is for a medium-nib fountain pen (with your choice of gold or silver trim) and a leather pen sleeve. For an additional $25, you'll have the option to add an extra nib in extra-fine, fine, broad, 1.1, or 1.4 italic sizes. You can also add a matching rollerball with gold or silver trim (+ $60).
