Product Description
The removal of the headphone jack in many of today’s new smartphone models has caused complications for some users. Those who want to connect headphones, aux cords, or other devices that have cords with 3.5-millimeter jacks can’t do so without an adapter Read More
I have both Apple's Lightning and USB-C dongles (as they were the best of the bunch at the time i picked them up) and was about to purchase another set of each to have as spares until i came across this, has anyone have a comparison between the two? Are there any measurable audio improvements versus the apple one's or are they just nicer/cooler looking? If it's just aesthetic I could just pick up another set of apple ones (lightning and usb-c) for less than a single one of these.
LeeyoI don't personally own this but judging by similar dac that I own in the past, ALC4040 will sound pretty average. I think Apple dongle's Cirrus Logic is a better dac to my ears.
What we are waiting for is the connector that has lightning FEMALE to 3.5 mm MALE; so we can plug into, say, the newer MacBook Pro's with our earpods and other headphones that have the lightning male adapter to the 3.5 mm port on the MacBook.
Does this product include a warranty? After just a few months of regular use, the sound in the right monitor is going in and out. I know it’s from the dongle because I just bought a new cable, and the sound only stops when the dongle wiggles. Thanks.
I bought two, one USB-C the other Lightning. I also have another DAC, a Hidizs Sonata HD 2 (S) with the D firmware, as well as many IEM's and USB Audio Player Pro. I tried the Tin P1 planar with Adele's 21 first. A magical experience with the Hidizs. With the new Dongle, very quiet, and the hardware volume control has no effect, higher, lower, same volume regardless. I fiddled about, altered settings on my phone and in app. Plugged and uplugged, closed app, etc. Tried my Little Bear B4-X tube amp in the end, still not much volume control until the last few mm of the dial. No Joy, no heart, no magic.
So I figure I'll hand it a soft ball. The BLON bl03's with Amazon music. It works, Android system volume rather than hardware volume, so it never gets loud, but I can listen to music, then I try just plugging the BLON into the phone Jack, (OnePlus 6, still has one) then I had to turn the sound down, and the music suddenly has texture, life. Bass. Still at least it's pretty.
Do not buy this trash.
EDIT: Just bought the 9 Euro OnePlus USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. I'll let you know how it sounds.
This same product is on ali express for $22 $10.
Also, is that mfi certified? The lightning connector in the picture appears to be two pieces, which would imply it is not.
Adapter doesnt appear to work. I have tried cleaning my usb c port out to no avail. This is on a pixel 2 xl. I am going to try it on my wifes phone when I get a chance (pixel 3). It was not recognized at all by my laptop either.
ThavoWas curious as well. Reached out to A&D and this is what they said. I plan to order one for the switch.
Hello Sir,
I am sorry for the late reply as this was a tricky question and we needed time to verify.
Yes, it should work on the switch. Thank you!
