I have a set of Audeze ISine20 earphones. You are arguing over the wrong reasons here. First off, Does the addition of the Cypher Lightning Cable make a difference. Most definitely. This cable has an amp and Dac built in. When I switch to regular cable, I am stunned at the difference. Now where you all veer away from the point is this. It's the quality of the Dac that makes the difference. If it's worse then what your source Dac is then it will sound worse. If it's better then your source Dac it will sound better. This is just common sense. Put a Chord Mojo in between and obviously it will sound better. Now not all people like the sound from the same Dac. So realistically a high dollar Dac could sound bad to your ears. This is not passive. It actively affects the sound. When the sound gets to it, it changes the sound. This is active. If it wasnt active there would be no change. Firefly sells millions of their online Dacs for a reason. The comment about speaker and stereo cables is not true. The difference between a braided and solid care cable is measurable. The difference between Silver and Copper cables is measurable. Its physics, copper reacts differently then silver in how a signal is handled. Of course there is alot of snake oil out there. But the fact is many know that Silver cable has a different sound then Copper from the same source.

scottluexactly, but if it looks good, that's all that is important...correct? Apple's ordinary/cheap looking build $9 dongle has been speculated/not proved(bc Apple is known to use Wolfs/Cirrus dacs in their product lines) has better measured specs than many of these, and same or slightly better output power for given ohm hp/ep. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-apple-vs-google-usb-c-headphone-adapters.5541/ apple's $9 dongle beats Hidiz on the specs charts here, not by much but still...cirrus logic for $9, doesn't play well on Android phones however, works for Windows though. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-hidizs-dac-and-amp-dongle.8707/

RotorooterYou are wrong the cipher cable has a equalizer program in them hence the different sound compare to the regular cable. Why this adapter spent money on fancy wiring instead of a decent dac who knows. Realtek dac are known to be cheap on board pc audio product.

TimberwolfnyNever said they didn't have software tuning.Thats kind of an odd comment because I really dont know of any headphone or earphone that doesn't. The point you missed is that they have an amp and DAC in the line whether it's cheap or not doesn't matter. What do you expect in a free cable a $10000 DAC.

scottluI'm not sure one way or the other. All I know is that with all the IPhones and IPads that I've owned the cords have always been the week parts. They go bad faster then any other cords that I've used. I think lots of people think Apple cords are not that well built.

Rotorooteractually i mean the isine sounds weird without the cipher cable because of the audeze equilization program in them. For me to spend money on a DAC with a realtek chip inside and expecting a big boost in sound quality is silly since realtek is known for cheap dac that is why they come standard on all on board pc sound systems.

scottluHow can that be, the Apple dongle has no Dac or Amp in it. I've tried both. I've physically heard and compared both. There's no comparison. Are you basing this on hearing the Audeze 20s or are you just speculating?

momentumTWSAgain, I refer to specific product and you want to compare the Apple dongle to a completely different product. If I'm talking about Klipsch Speakers is it appropriate to use Anthony Gallo Speakers as your basis for talking about the sound from the Klipsch with certain amps?

Timberwolfnysee I have no idea which Isines your talking about. They make a wide variety. Some d0from 200 to 2000 dollars. Clarify which your basing your opinion on. Remember guy sound is a matter of taste. What you like I may not.

RotorooterDoes no matter which version of isine. The cipher cable with the lightning connector had a dac and has equalization tweeks programed into it. If you read into the audeze website on what exactly is the cipher cable you would have known that.
