The MA1 bomber jacket gets an update at the hands of snowboard king Burton, in this exclusive collaboration with Alpha Industries. It’s still got that classic bomber profile—slanted pockets, ribbed collar, tight cuffs—but this version is longer and more form-fitting than the original Read More
My order got cancelled a week after they claimed that it has been picked up due to my size being "back ordered".
Does massdrop usually make such bad excuses or am I just unlucky?

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but if you're used to wearing a real MA-1, this won't fit like it. True MA-1's aren't sized to be layered underneath, and the torso on an MA-1 is shorter than the arms, because the MA-1 is a flight jacket (not a field jacket) meant to be comfortable for pilots sitting in the cockpit for hours at a time.
markaHe's 6'1" and wearing a size Medium. Again, these jackets run large because they're meant to be a true outer layer for colder weather, so in order to wear it a bit more fitted (i.e. for the city) i'd actually size down.
TomasVDoes the "larger size" also apply to sleeve length? I'm 6'6" and usually need about a 36-37" sleeve in Medium, wondering if I can get away with buying this one.
From what I've heard Alpha Industries makes some great jackets. I really enjoy the look of these and might get in on this. Haven't had jacket of this type in a while.
Is that camo pocket on the arm removable? I'm not sure I like how it looks. Also, the images of the guy wearing it seem to have a different color than the picture of just the jacket lower down. Is it closer to the darker or lighter tan?
MSolleIDThe camo pocket on the arm is fully removable. It's a velcro pocket just like the patches are.
As far as the color on the Olive jacket goes, we took the photos on a nice sunny day so the lighting definitely played a role there. I'd say it's somewhere in between the vendor images you see at the bottom of the page and our lifestyle photos.
Hope this helps! Thanks for your interest on this drop.
I have three Alpha Industries jackets. All made in Tennessee and made well, reasonably priced and really comfortable. I enjoy their more "traditional" military styled jackets. I know my younger counterparts will enjoy this jacket but MHO is we older dogs, perhaps not so much. Certainly will be an excellent purchase at a good price. Looks good. Alpha makes some great jackets.
