Product Description
Inspired by an iconic 1970 Alpina design, the Startimer Pilot Heritage Chronograph features a barrel-shaped case and a two-toned look like a cloudless blue sky. Powered by Alpina’s AL-727 automatic movement, it offers a bi-compax chronograph operated by the pusher at 2 o’clock Read More

I have the silver/cream color dial version and although I spent less, it’s worth the drop price when you consider the uniqueness and exclusivity of the movement on this piece. The in-house LJP 7773 is a rarity in both the manufacturers custom movement itself and the exclusivity of the mono-pusher option to that movement. With a little research you will find that there are very few watchmakers offering mono-pusher designs and those come mostly from mid to upper tier makers. The only other watch that I could find that contains this movement is the Autodromo Ford GT “Owners Edition” albeit in a twin pusher flyback configuration and that watch retails at over $11,000. These are beautiful watches, finished to a high standard that unfortunately are hindered by a brand that specializes in watches that are often heavily discounted which can impact the value of the brand overall.

MarkohHave the same Alpina silver dial, Mono Pusher Chrono https://us.alpinawatches.com/collections/startimer/products/al-727ss4h6 These Alpinas have extremely high quality design, finish and movements. I believe this is a great Drop price point for this timepiece. Only thing i really wish it came with a clear caseback option to showcase the movement. I didn't care for the strap/buckle so i swapped it out for Frederick Constant `Healey' Rally Strap https://newwatchstrap.com/frederique-constant-healey-vintage-rally-23x18mm-brown-genuine-leather-watch-strap-frd101.html

I've literally never seen prices this high on these Alpina models...really this is disgraceful to offer them at these prices to the Drop community

This one is interesting because of the monopusher chronograph. Alpina is owned by Citizen. The price may be higher than expected here but it seems you're getting manufacturer's warranty. That 1️⃣ year offered here is weird because Alpina offers 3️⃣ years https://us.alpinawatches.com/pages/warranty so it's not clear how would this really work in case of needing it. I'm not sure if you can get this same price with the AD so you also get the normal 3️⃣ years warranty with Alpina. This ⌚ was released last year. Reviews here:

These prices on their Alpina Spotlight are horrible. I was a huge fan of Alpina and Frederique Constant (their sister brand) watches, but won't buy them now unless they're at least 70% off now, which is not hard to find. In terms of quality, both brands gave me maintenance issues higher than average when compared to other brands. Been a few years since I've owned one, so I'm not sure if their QC has improved. However, these prices on Drop are a joke!

Remember MassDrop? That site with good deals instead of "here's the fourth $14,000 watch today that you can buy for $13,995 here"

I don't know what kind of watches you lot buy but no reputable brand will go 50% off.

andrea_tThey do, and I have. Even here on Drop, for example purchased 2 great Raymond Weil watches(Freelancer and Tango 300),they haven't got that high street volume brand popularity like Tag and Oris, but I feel the quality is comparable, infact against some models I prefer Raymond Weil. Tag Carrera is a nice watch, but really would you pay even at discount $3500 compared to $750 for the Freelancer auto chrono here on Drop. Like most of us I am not immune to the power of the brand, but even if the same price I personally prefer the Freelancer, it just seems to have more character. The Tango 300 Raymond Weil is IMO an extremely underrated watch, there are not many Swiss chronos with 300 meters WR at $599,this watch also has the screw down pushers as well as the crown!! I worked a few years in jewellery/watch retail and was constantly amazed at how a Brand could sell a pretty average watch because of the "Tag" - no pun intended!
