Think of the Racer as a more responsive and faster version of the super comfy Escalante. Slightly firmer for better response and super breathable upper. I ran the Big Sur Marathon in this shoe last year on very little training and had a great day! My first choice for long mileage, but it performs amazingly well at all distances!

NorCalRunDudeThe racer also uses a less stretchy mesh for the upper which eliminates foot slide during cornering which, for me, is the biggest problem with the regular escalante.

Where's the size 7.5 option in either mens color? Really want the Boston color, but I would settle for the Lond if the proper size were available. Since this is a running shoe, the proper fit is extremely important. If the size isn't being offered, then the sizing chart shouldn't display it. It appears every other half-size is available besides the 7.5, so hoping this is just a simple oversight.

timkatjeThese are basically the sizes that didn't get sold so they're put on Massdrop to move inventory. If you don't see your size that typically means that it was sold out prior to this drop. You can see similar gaps in the women's sizing.

timkatjeAltra doesn’t make men’s shoes in size 7.5 timkatje! When in doubt, I always go up. Especially for running shoes. Hope that helps!
