This is only $4 less than the price on their website, and you don't have to wait a month to get it. They have Olive, Black, and Navy available in all sizes in WOOL for $7 more.
There's also a discount code out there now for 15% off (FOLIAGE), which brings it to the same price on the acrylic as Massdrop.
I only recently started visiting Massdrop. The only really good deal I've gotten was the Mystery Ranch Kletterwerks for $99. All the other times I'm seeing either straight overpriced junk, or good stuff with a very minimal or no discount compared to other retailers.

I wear Carhart watch caps and have for years. They last about 2 months of daily use before they either stretch weird, come un-knit or I lose them.
Will report back how long this one lasts once I get it.

I noticed the "Olive Drab" Standard Issue Edition's colour is much lighter than the other hats' "Olive Drab" colour. Which one is more true to the colour I'd be receiving were I to order one?

KetsuoTaberuHi, yes the Standard Issue color is the true color. The other photos are outdated. We are working with Massdrop to get those updated. Sorry for the confusion.

Thats a bit much. I can get a decent wool watch cap for less. Or a really good hat for about the same. Pass.

CalaverasgrandeIt's an American-made knit cap with a vegetable tanned leather patch that is hand cut and embossed in our workshop in Massachusetts. It is then riveted to the hat with solid brass rivets and a second embossed backer patch on the back side for added durability. We know there are cheaper hats out there and we also know you get what you pay for.

What are the washing instructions for these? And is the wool noticeably warmer than the acrylic or about the same?

gjreyn825Hey, these should not be machine washed. Hand wash only. As for the warmth, both the acrylic and wool provide suitable warmth for average winter conditions, however the wool is definitely a heavier knit that provides greater warmth.

gjreyn825Hi, yes there are several different options. First, you can choose between wool and acrylic. Then you can choose between the different emblems embossed on the leather patch. There is our Any Frontier emblem, our Stars and Stripes emblem, and our Shackleton Ship emblem (if you don't know the story of Ernest Shackleton, google it, it is one of the most incredible survival stories of all time).

SpiritOneThese hats are 100% made in the USA. The leather patch is full grain vegetable tanned leather that is hand cut, embossed, and secured to the cap using solid brass rivets.
