Haha 1600+ USD? Where is all that price going?
The base is made of 100% pure snow. Do you understand what the street value of that is?

you can always leave it to drop to over charge for a product you can find else where cheaper. 1600 for this is a complete joke lmao

While I completely agree this price is absolutely insane, it's not Drop that chose the price - Angry Miao has sold this elsewhere with the same price tag. Drop obviously chose to run it on their site, though. At least it's only an extra $750 for the fancy paint job version.

How is this so expensive?

I think it's the first "wireless" ergo in terms of both wireless connection (no cable between the split keyboards and the input device) and wireless charging. A low-frequency communication protocol is developed specially for this product to achieve low interference and low latency. The surface is a 3D curved metal uni-body. We may see a lot of curved shape ergo in 3D-printing or plastic, but this is aluminium alloy. Only 5-axis CNC machining can do that but since the uni-body is not a regular shape, the craftmanship is still difficult and costly. I think the product description in DROP is a bit too simplified, take a look of Angry Miao's website: https://www.angrymiao.com/am-hatsu/

ZiggySmalls....Don't bully it just because seeing the word NFT...It was actually given to the first batch buyers for free. Just one more free collection, why not?

mostercookieI am currently using a SliceMK, an open design/source split ergodox clone with wireless (both Bluetooth and Dongle). I was able to build it out (kit+switches+keycaps) for ~$400. It doesn't have wireless charging, but it goes over a month without needing a charge: https://battlepenguin.com/tech/recent-keyboards-the-model-m-slice-mk-and-royal-kludge-84/#slicemk-wireless-ergodox-clone I understand the cost comes from the unibody design, but for that price point, it should have a 2.4Ghz dongle connection.

mostercookieIt is not the first wireless ergo. Dygma did it before them (at a fraction of the cost) and I don't think they are the first either.

mostercookieNFTs should be bullied. It is a moral obligation.

Are the LEDs white, or are they RGB? "White RGB" is a contradiction.
