I quote "For this run to be successful, at least 6 members are needed to join. blabla". Then you can read: "5 days left / +6 purchasers needed". 0 sales. Normal: comment explaining everything is from @Alejo1707 , below, - it's much more interesting than mine.
Drop is never transparent about a success or failure on an item they sold. It happened before on their own Marvel Series sets, which they never even disclosed how many were actually sold, and I have seen items which would close in 5 minutes with a lot of missing sales before success, being marked afterwards as "Sold Out". My guess is that this BS, being as expensive as it is, would be a success even if a single one was sold. Are you telling me Angry Miao would say no to a purchase of their "exquisitely crafted" paperweight?
Sorry if I came a bit aggressive, but Angry Miao along with Drop is like sus truckfood and ipecac, they make the ultimate turd. Just know it's not against you my friend ;)
SpecTPI will say it's a "hyped" product since there is no other split wireless ergo keyboard right now on the market even though this $1600 had been launched for over a year.
https://www.zsa.io/moonlander/
Moonlander is solid but not the same. the hatsu wireless is pretty cool 5-axis cnc and it just being a block of metal lols. Also the all wireless probably where the price comes in. Though, i feel like for 1600 they should throw in that deskmat for wireless charging at least lol
"...the all-white RGB lighting delivers a stark, one-tone aesthetic."
It's white. Just say, "the backlight is white." That's all there is to it, what is going on here? Hahaha
The above quote mixed with the attached image (this thing is PACKED with unique features and the ONLY "highlight" is something it DOESN'T HAVE!? hahaha) has officially convinced me that composition/copy approval of ALL product blurbs are outsourced to moms on fiverr with only the product name and a single picture given for reference. Will they research for more details? Will they even check out the manufacturer's resources or just click on the first keyword stuffed fake article when researching? Who knows! Regardless, whatever is written, no matter how accurate, detailed, or factual, gets published with seemingly zero proofreading from Drop to ensure that a single listing posted doesn't misinform, obfuscate, omit, or somehow generally leave potential buyers with more questions than they started with. As a seller, you want to make sure those interested have all the info they could want to ensure an educated purchase and avoid surprises, disappointment and returns....right?
But hey, maybe that's part of the intended experience with this shop. If you're not forced to look off-site for basic product info, adding your question bin a sea of others asking for clarification on what's actually being sold, or paying at or above retail to then wait half a year for shipment, is it *really* a purchase from Drop?
hey drop. I mean Massdrop. We still know who you are. You said “hey call me Nick not Nicholas.” You started as a site for sick deals/group buys and made some incredible groundbreaking collabs. (Some bad ones too. Looking at you grell tws)
But this new overpriced $&@“ you think we’ll buy is unacceptable. Look at this comment section. Over 200 comments already and mostly negative. Think about how many people see the email in their inbox and just think “wtf $1600” and then find out all the cons of the device.
EMBARRASSING
ShazManLike I said when they tried to sell the "Porsche PC": you don't take people on Massdrop (it was Massdrop, good old times...) for a ride. It seems they forget that the vast majority of the people here are geeks/nerds, not commercial/showoff people.
Soldered linear switches on an ergo keyboard that isn't easy to remap, and costs $1600
Maybe Angry Miao should stick to small batches released to their existing pool of suckers
conundrumOh jeez, I hadn't even noticed they had soldered switches.
My split ergo might not have the curved / scoop layout, but I'll just take my Hotdox V2 with VIA firmware and hotswap sockets. Save myself.... $1200 after buying new keycaps, switches, and lube.
