The Angry Miao Relic 80 is a painstakingly crafted mechanical keyboard that’s named for its visual nod to beautiful gems and mineral deposits that have stood the test of time and ages. Designed with inspiration from the work Brillo Box by New York artist Daniel Arsham (in turn inspired by Andy Warhol’s original Brillo Box replicas), the Relic 80 looks like Angry Miao took a regular machined aluminum keyboard and chipped away at the corners to reveal crystallized RGB shine-through windows that give the appearance that the keyboard is filled with fine geological crystals. What’s actually on the inside, however, is a 1.2-millimeter PCB with hot-swappable switches, a high-quality FR4 plate, PORON pads and IXPE 8 switch pads for extra sound dampening, and three modes of connectivity: 2.4-gigahertz wireless, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB-C. Angry Miao has even baked in Qi wireless charging technology designed to work perfectly with their CYBERMAT. It’s time you unboxed—and unearthed—a real gem of a keyboard.
