This is also a good price, one of the lowest prices on this brand, or pretty close to it. Starting to look like the Massdrop of old, at least for now...

4-30I guess that for 💲8️⃣2️⃣9️⃣, a simple Sellita SW2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ no real diver & 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣Ⓜ️💧 resistance this one is quite expensive enough... The Glycine Combat Sub is a way better value for 💰 with the very same features. Now, there are guys here who have owned both and they 🗣️ the workmanship on this ⌚ is higher.... Hopefully it's 💲5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣➕ worth of higher finishes 🤷🏻‍♂️ but for the price I would be rather checking a chronograph or at the very least a GMT 🤔

I have 2 of these, white dial/grey stainless bezel and blue dial/blue ceramic bezel. I think the quality and finish are very good for around $800. They look and feel more expensive. If you're looking for a cushion case diver, I don't think you'll be disappointed. The low profile is nice, and the 22 mm lug width makes for many strap options. I currently have mine on Italian rubber NATO straps, and they are very comfortable. Someone mentioned Jean Richard. . . those are quite nice too and the titanium and carbon chronograph options are very cool, but the 25 mm strap width is annoying if you want aftermarket options particularly for their diver. I like Glycine enough to own a few of those as well, but this Anonimo feels much nicer to me.

LuomodiferroAs someone who owned a Combat Sub and still owns a Nautilo, I wholeheartedly agree with you. There is nothing wrong with the Glycine, but it is by no means at the same level of refinement as the Anonimo. Ceramic bezel, multi-piece case work, beautifully domed AR sapphire, outstanding lume...none of which are found in the Combat Subs. Definitely a solid offering in the <$1k market. PS. I also had a couple JR Aquascopes and while those, too, were decent, I just couldn't bond with them the way I have with the Nautilo.

Another argument for the 46mm sub combat Glycine, same movement, same WR!!! But a genuine Swiss company, and build; although I have no problem with non-swiss companies building and distributing fully swiss complied watches out of Switzerland; I have one myself from a microbrand. But the price here seems purely to be inflated for cosmetic purposes. Almost $500 usd. over the Glycine price. This is probably one situation that would appeal to "Watchyoutalkingabout". $829 usd. gets you access to a huge range of quality product.

Yema are French, and i'd be willing to bet significantly smaller than CW, which is significantly better manufactured than Glycine (here it's pretty obvious "you get what you pay for". i used to own a C60 Bronze up until a couple of months ago) and has far fewer QC problems than Yema. CW has pretty much a permanent 15% discount (newsletter), and 30% off sales a couple times a year (sometimes even 40-50% off for "nearly new" items). Anonimo "look like Panerai style" because they were formed by the italian dudes who actually revived the Panerai brand in the 90ies :) but, as i said, neither Anonimo nor Panerai have anything to do with their italian roots. Panerai was bought by Richemont near the end of the 90ies/early 2000s and relocated to Switzerland, while Anonimo have also been bought (don't remember by whom) and relocated over the Alps about 5 or more years ago

raestI kinda remember there was a link between Panerai and Anonimo, but not sure what it was; the Yema site does give you the impression it is a larger microbrand but who knows. I haven't heard a lot about them. I have been on CW site a few times , when I see 40 to 50% off you can be sure I will be in it!! They do seem to have a lot of praise and very little negative : if at all.

OMG--look at that; those crazy Italians put 11:00 o'clock where 12, 4, and 8 o'clock should be! What the hell were they thinking?!

I kinda want this a bit after selling my Panerai, if that bronze was the same price as the white dial it would have made things a lot easier. Anyone have experience buying from MD in Canada - do you end up paying 13% HST (Ontario) plus 5% customs fee?
