I use the ModMic with a DAC and onboard audio from my motherboard. (Headphones plugged into DAC, ModMic plugged into rear microphone port (the rear ports connected to the mobo are more reliable and better built than front/top mic ports on most PC cases), as the cable for the modmic is plenty long. I have the modmic cable threaded into the spiral cable of my headphones, to make it slightly more manageable than 2 separate cables.
ModMic is the best out there for what it does & at the price offered here is well worth it =)
