Got mine last night. I was very excited to try them out and spent a good portion of last night adjusting them to get a good sound.
And, the number 1 thing i can say about them is... just like with any mic it is hugely dependent on what you plug it into.
I have about 4 different options for the mic input on my computer. Two are the onboard and front panel inputs, another is a mic input on my keyboard, and the last one is a separate external usb based device. You could call it a mini DAC of sorts.
Each input had a different sound quality to it, but id have to say that the best sounding one was my little mini DAC. Still just goes to show that having something external from the computer but dedicated to the job will dramatically improve sound performance.
However, the funny part was that the BEST sound came from when i plugged the cable into my headphone extension cable. I dont know if its because its designed for headphones, or if its that stretchy curly nature of it that adds just the right amount of resistance. Either way, it made it sound amazing.
So what is the mic quality? It is an AMAZING headset microphone. Good quality, doesnt pick up annoying background noises due to its decent foam cover, and just overall good sound quality. But its always going to be dependent on what you plug it into. And, it is not really professional grade stuff, so don't start expecting to sound like your favorite youtuber over night.
But the real reason to buy this guy, the magnetic attachment to hold the microphone is simply amazing. So long as your headphones have some sort of semi-flat, semi-smooth surface, it will attach easily.
Honestly, one of the best headsets money can buy in my opinion. Just slap this sucker on a Sennheiser 598, or better, and go. (If you do use the Sennheiser 598 though, remember that the headphones are open, so the mic will pick up the sound from them. Set up your voice option accordingly.)

Mine came with a pair of headphones i got some time ago, but a simple example would be http://amzn.com/B001MSS6CS Even a simple one like that can potentially be better than onboard audio from your motherboard. But it would be helpful to spend a little more and get something of better quality. Especially if you plan to use it for your headphones as well. But this mic isnt designed to be studio quality anyways.

OH and one other tid bit of info about these usb sound card adapters, like many dacs, they tend to work with most game consoles giving you the ability to easily use your headphones and mic on them.
