This is my first time buying mics, I have two questions: 1. Can anyone explain the difference between the standard muted and omni-directional muted version (the official website does not have these additional options)? and what are the advantages using either of them? 2. Is the additional base clasps worth it?

IronMoji1.The standard ModMic 4.0 is unidirectional so for use where you only want sound from one direction, whereas the omnidirectional version will pick up sound from all directions.
If you're picking this mic up to chat with friends or in games, maybe even to stream or make videos, you'll most likely want the unidirectional(Standard version) as it will help eliminate unwanted noise.
2. Not unless you're gonna be using this mic with more then 2 headphones, as it comes with 2 base clamps by default.
