As for the Asus people, I have an Asus mobo too, and was very upset with the ModMic initially till I (quickly) realized it's simply the Asus SupremeFX sound driver. For me, disabling the "Noise Gate" option on the sound control panel (Sonic Studio) worked wonders, People on TS now claim I sound like "You're talking from a recording studio".
