The adhesive pads do NOT last long. I suggest finding a stronger alternative or just super glue it to your headphones (Like I did with my SHP-9500).
Mic speaks for itself, iz veri naiz!
YakovHey Yakov!
Sorry you had some trouble with the adhesives. Depending on weather, wear and tear, how its installed, and what surface, the pads should last a year or more each. I'm guessing that wasn't the case with you, but you can make your base clasp stick better by following these steps:
1) Make sure you clean the surface with alcohol and pick a surface that is non-rubberized and as flat as possible. 2) Heat the adhesive with a hair dryer to get it nice and warm before you hold it in place for 60 - 120 seconds. 3) Let it sit and cure for 1 hour before attaching the mic.
That SHOULD give an incredibly strong hold. If you have any extra adhesives left give it a try! You can even wash the adhesives with warm soapy water (strange as that sounds) and re-use them.

AntlionJoeDidn't know I could wash them. Had mine for about 1 1/2 years and just kept heating up the base clamps. to get them to re-stick.

YakovI have 3 headphones with pads on all of them from 5 years to 2 years old. Not one problem. Using version 1.0 to 4.0
Not saying your wrong, but maybe it's the material of your headphones or a coating or they just weren't wiped with an alcohol pad. Not accusations, just thoughts.
And @AntlionJoe just dropped some knowledge on us. (didn't know about rewashing, didn't need to but nice to know) Thanks dude.
YakovYeah we have it in the FAQ but that can be somewhat hard to find/read unless you know what you're looking for. We're constantly battling being an eco-conscious company and not including a ton of "stuff" you don't need in a box while also providing enough information in the instructions (which, if experiences tells me anything, nobody reads anyway, lol.
Give it a try I say, then follow the above instructions and report back on how it works. Material it sticks to DOES make a difference in longevity as well.
Oh and the last thing that makes a huge difference is to make sure you leave a little slack between the ModMic and the first cable clip/cable wrap. Make sure the weight of the cables is being carried by the headphone jack and not the ModMic adhesive. That's a really common one (I even messed it up the first time I got a ModMic when I started here).
