Two Questions:
1. Just curious if this is meant to be semi permanent attachment. For example I recently picked up the AKG 7XX. I'd like to have a mic for occasional use but would like to be able to attach, and take on and off as needed so I won't have the mic on when just listening to music or playing a non/ mic game.
2. Do you guys recommend this mic for using on a conference call? I occasionally will work from home and join a business conference call from and I often times am speaking or presenting during these. Thanks.

ez101If you don't use the included cable clips (Those S shaped plastic bits) then you shouldn't have a problem using it with, or without the mic. The mic base is also magnetic so you can attach it any metal surface. I have a metal desk, so I just clip it to the edge of my desk when I'm not using it. So long as the cables aren't tangled up or overlapping.
ez101@Yakov basically answered this already, but just for certainty:
The ModMic uses an adhesive base clasp, which is meant stay on when the ModMic is not in use. It's very small and should not affect your use of headphones when you do not want the mic. The Mic its self stays on with a very strong neodymium magnet. When you're done with the mic you can just pop it off. As Yakov said, you'll want to be careful with how you arrange the cable management if you take it off frequently. A single cable clip may be all you want to use, or none at all.
As far as conference calls: ModMics are now being used for a variety of small and medium size business, as well as one very large business (A very famous game developer that I don't yet have permission to say they are using our stuff). So, it should work great! They're also used in the corporate office of Discord and Valve by some folks, which is pretty cool :)

ez101I use this mic on my k7xx and just be prepared to eat through so many 3M pads. After buying another set of 3M pads I'm on my last one and im thinking of superglueing the magnet piece on.
BrandonPutraBrandon, did you try heating the pad up with a hair dryer before adhering and letting it set for an hour before putting any weight on it?
Also, you can wash the pads in warm soapy water and re-stick them. They lose some of their stickiness, but you can add several months or more to the life of a pad by doing so. Give it a try!

AntlionJoeI've tried those steps, the pads end up drying up and becoming a plastic like solid.
BrandonPutraDoh, from the heat or from the soapy water? Or both?

AntlionJoeNot sure, the warm soapy water didn't work for me after one try, and I think heating it upade it worst.
BrandonPutraI'll do some testing on it today to see if I can reproduce that result. I certainly don't want to make the problem worse! (though I guess you can't get worse than not working)

AntlionJoeThanks! I bought the base clasp pack from your website last year. Do you still sell them for 5.25 or something?
BrandonPutraWe changed it to include cable clips as well, but I don't recall if the price changed at the same time. I don't think it was ever 5.25 but I could be wrong (I'm fairly new).
