Is it supposed only to be attached to the headphones or would it be useful as a standalone mic as well? Let's say I use in-ear headphones and am wondering whether it would could be mounted on a table or maybe computer monitor.

mantasYou can attach it to whatever you want... but they designed it to be attached to traditional headphones. If you don't use them, maybe this product is not what you need. Save your money! ;)

mantasIf you do that, you may as well just get a standalone mic

mantasHonestly, you can still use your buds, just go buy some very cheap headphones with a decent size headband, and just attach it to that. You can probably remove the speakers/cups off the band to make it super light and less pronounced.

mantasYou can do that Mantas, but in all fairness if you want a desktop mic there are some great options out there. The advantage you'll gain with the ModMic is you CAN attach it to headphones... or some people attach it to the back of their laptop, back of their computer monitor, or back of their best friend. ... SOME people do, I am sure!
