why choose the omnidirectional? those of us with mechanical keyboards don't need the clickity clack being picked up and could really have used the unidirectional =(

v27vThis is most likely overstock, seeing how most people prefer uni, this drop isn't meant to ostracize uni users, it's to sell their omni because they are neglected since uni gets all the love.
BrainFlushThat's pretty much the answer. We discontinued the Omni and these are the last remaining units in our warehouse :). Personally, for the record, I believe the Omni is the better of the two... but hey, I also believe Dungeons and Dragons Online should have outsold World of Warcraft. :D

AntlionJoeI prefer the omni myself for the more natural sound. This would be my 2nd modmic 4.0!

AntlionJoeFWIW, Ive read that the sound quality is better, but its going to pick up everything, thats really my concern...I think? I dunno.
v27vIt picks up "more" - but I think its a mistake to say "everything" - I game in a pretty quiet house (the dogs barking is going to get picked up by any mic) - so it isn't like I can hear the TV in the next room, but it does make things like keyboards, fans, AC units, etc. more audible, and I wouldn't use Omni mode in a LAN event if I could help it.

AntlionJoeAnother advantage of the omni directional version is that you can mount it to something other than a headphone, like the side of a monitor, and still pick up voice.

mariomacalusoI just want to make sure you guys know that Joe works at AntLion. So he knows all these things. By no means am I opposing you describing the advantages of Omni mics.
