A lot of people are recommending to buy the sabrent USB adaptor, to reduce background noise, does anyone have any knowledge of this being valid?

kyle_1102Not recommended: Most cheap USB soundcards are well, made cheaply, so the internal components can change. Podcastage gives an example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1v1jtHz4C0
You can do a test yourself if you have a multimeter and measure the voltage your mic input gives. Though to be clear it's not everything: My own Xonar does under 3V and still sounds pretty good.

ysleeI'm really late on this, but Podcastage also did a test of the ModMic using both Sabrent and our USB.

Anyway, we DO recommend a USB sound card IF you can not afford a better solution. Audio is something you can pour a lot of money into, so it is up to the end user.
EDIT: Just watched that video (I love podcastage) - So apparently you may want to avoid the Sabrent USB? Rough.
