Is there anyway to pick up the accessory pack without the ModMic?

RodediahKThat's a good question for the Massdrop staff. I don't see a way to do it by default. Not opposed to it on our end :)

aditxmanHello!
Each ModMic comes with 2 magnets and 1 extra adhesive. If you install it carefully it should last even when you travel a lot. Well over a year, probably 3 years+, depending on how rough you are with them. I've had mine on a travel pair I bring to trade shows since I was hired (nearly 2 years now). Anyway, even at only 1 year per base clasp/adhesive that's still 3 years before you'd need to buy more.
To get the best hold on the adhesive follow these steps carefully!
1) Clean the surface REALLY well with the alcohol prep pad we give you and don't touch the surface with your fingers until the install is done.
2) Warm up the adhesive a little. A hair dyer, portable heater, etc should be fine.
3) Place the base clasp onto the headphone and hold it FIRMLY for 1 minute
4) Set your headphones down and put a book or something fairly heavy (not heavy enough to damage your headphones) onto the adhesive and let it sit for 12-24 hours.
It should last ages this way, though try not to put your headphones into situations where the base clasp is going to get pried off by heavy objects.
As a side note you can actually wash the adhesive with warm soapy water and it will re-stick, though it does lose a little bit of its adhesion this way, but I have had people say its added another 6-12 months of life to their adhesives.

aditxmanHi Adit,
Our warranty coverage is worldwide. Return shipping is not included normally, that is correct. However, our return or defect rate is extremely low.
We recently had someone else with an e5 report a similar problem with a ModMic though, which was resolved by swapping over to a USB DAC for cheap. I don't know if this is a problem with the E5's mic port or what, but I totally understand you don't want another minimic situation.

What I can say for sure is we've been doing this a lot longer and have a lot more experience making sure people are happy with their purchases. You can count on this level of customer service and quality throughout your ModMic experience. What I can't say for sure is if the soundblaster AE-5 has a poorly designed mic in.

aditxmanNope, we're actually out of the USB adapters (well, we have a few left but not enough for this drop). We should have more in stock soon but not for this drop. You should be able to find a similar one locally though, look for the Syba SD CM UAUD https://www.amazon.com/external-Adapter-Windows-Microphone-SD-CM-UAUD/dp/B001MSS6CS. Should work about as well.
