I notice the pic uses open headphones. I recently moved my modmic from my HD 280s to my HD 600s. Just wondering if anyone here with open headphones that uses mumble or other voice chat platforms could comment on any issues using a mic with open headphones. I haven't done any calls yet, but while adjusting my settings, it seemed like music I was listening to was activating my mic really easily. I'm going to do some recordings in audacity to see how bad it is, but I worry that my mic could pick up people talking from my open headphones.

SoundtoxinI use a clip-on mic with my HD-6XX's and use Discord for game chat. I haven't had any problems like you mention, but you could adjust the sensitivity a little if you were having issues...

Rancid_FetusI did some recordings in audacity and things didn't seem to be that bad. I think I just keep my volume higher when listening to music, so if I'm not listening to music it's probably not going to cause any issues. I still have yet to hop in mumble with anyone, though, so if I find out later that it's a problem, I'll probably come back to post more.
SoundtoxinI use them personally with open headphones (R70x) every day. Basically the answer is they won't pick up any noise bleed at even unreasonably loud volumes. Short of blasting the sound and increasing the mic gain to clipping levels it won't be an issue :)

SoundtoxinI use push to talk to help counter this as well, as I abhor messing with voice activation sensitivity.

Lurch98I feel the opposite. I don't just use voice chat in games, so any key that actually does something (e.g. letters and symbols) is out of the question, as I'd be randomly typing in various windows, and all the modifiers can be just as problematic, since they may do undesirable things depending on the program, and even if they don't, you basically can't type and talk at the same time. I'd have to unmap my mouse buttons from being back/forward and find something else that isn't on my mouse or keyboard if I were to use the mouse either. A well-configured voice activation setup is perfectly fine. You can even get to the point where your mechanical keyboard won't activate the mic. Only issue I've had is sometimes I like to speak calmly and quietly and I may have configured my activation for a normal speaking voice, resulting in having to readjust or speak louder than I want.
