Nice! Been waiting for this!
So a couple of questions. Will the AntLion USB Adapter boost the mic gain? Also, by plugging it in to my computer for the ModMic will it cancel out my external DAC for my headphones?

grasspuffThe USB can boost gain using AGC and also filters a fair amount of white noise. I recommend volume 30 with agc on.
You can also try equalizer APO to simply boost mic gain, which may introduce too much EMI. Or it could be just what you need. I published a post on this today in fact! https://antlionaudio.com/blogs/news/what-to-do-if-your-modmic-is-too-quiet

AntlionJoei have avoided modmics in the past because they were terrible at picking up lows. this is really bad for male broadcasters. why did earlier versions of the modmic have this problem?

janomeI think we probably have different expectations. The comparison above is just a guess between the minimic and the ModMic. Bass pickup compared to a very high end mic may not be as strong, though I don't know.
On the specs we list the Omni mode of the mm5 as 30hz on the low end, but we suspect that it is conservative compared to how our competitors test their devices. We are hoping to do an in depth retest of our devices and show the whole process.
Basically we have started to realize taking frq response range as stated value may lead people astray. It's not nearly as concrete as most people think.
In short, best bet is to listen to clips that other folks recorded with and without post process.
