I purchased this through a past drop. It came defective, I had to exchange it and never use it. It just has to sit in front of your face in a perfect manner, even though the direction isn't supposed to matter on this version. After 2 weeks use, it just sits and collects dust in the case. I even added all the bells and whistles to mine (mute, extra magnets). I now use a mic that clips onto my shirt that only cost $20. It's not in my face and better sound quality. I wish I could say ModMic 4.0 is awesome but not for gamers. Unless you don't mind looking at it as you look at the computer screen, then it's fine, good quality when rotated correctly and used with an equalizer.

dessertbunnyDefective is understandable, but I feel like there's user error going on here. Did you buy the unidirectional or omnidirectional mic? With uni, double check underneath the foam cover that the microphone is facing towards your mouth. The sound quality should be excellent, but usually not with onboard audio, with their $10 USB sound card, you should have an amazing sounding mic, that's convenient and great.

Luka_MegurineYeah, I have one(uni-directional) and use it with the PS4, I just plug it into the controller(through a headpone mic seperating adapter) and the sound quality is superb. I did originally have a cheaper headphone/mic splitter that messed with quality a bit, but then replaced it with a Sennheiser splitter and now it's perfect.
dessertbunnyFeel free to hit us up on our support tab on the website Dessert. It certainly sounds like something has gone wrong somewhere, as the quality should be excellent, even with onboard audio (which sometimes causes white noise and such, but nothing like what you're describing). We'll do what we can to help make your experience awesome.
