A 3D-Printed Keyboard With Dual Mounting

Customizability is a big benefit of mechanical keyboards. In the new RAVEN50 3D-Printed Mechanical Keyboard Kit, it’s more of a full-on identity. Born out of a collaboration between Ape Table Pie and RAVEN, this tiny little compact board kit comes with an eco-friendly plastic case available in nine playful colors. You can layer your case with the flex-cut PCB, FR4 plate, and a set of foam to create just the right resonant characteristics—but perhaps the most interesting addition is the ability to swap between gasket mounting and top mounting. This gives you a level of control that you don’t often have with a keyboard. The keyboard features three modes of connectivity powered by a 2,000-milliamp hour battery, VIA-powered customization, a comfortable 7-degree typing angle, and a nice little LED strip to add some visual character. Now you just have to decide which switches and keycaps you want to use to complete your custom compact build.

Question
So this looks like it’s no soldering required correct? And it looks like you have to provide your own stabilizers too right? And lastly (and most importantly) does it come pre-programmed? I don’t know anything about having to program a board. Sorry if these are silly questions. I have been out of the hobby for a long time but this REALLY peaked my interest. Thinking the soy color with dasher caps. Thanks for any info!

Hey, you are right that the stabs, switches, and keycaps are not included. As far as soldering this is Hotswap so that means no soldering is required and VIA is the tool you use to program the keys...Read More
