Picked up the fillet knife. The handle is clunky compared to the Yaxell and Stone series knives. The blade isn't has flexible as I was expecting for a fillet knife. Otherwise decent knife for the price.

If "38 ever sold" and reviews are being cited in the discussions, why no link to the reviews?

It seems that the delivery schedule is already delayed. If it's not too much trouble, how about opening drop again? I'd like to buy more as presents.

I got the delay notification email also, and then the shipping notification a few days later.

Hi Apogee I drop 8.5" Dragon Ice fusion and 8.5" magnetic bamboo sheath for 8.5" Dragon Ice fusion. What's mean below description? The 8.5" bamboo sheath is not compatible with 8.5" Dragon Ice fusion? "You can also add a magnetic bamboo sheath (*will not fit on the fusion knife) for (+ $15)."

Once burnt on the Vital, twice shy~!

Fair enough! I was thinking of the 9" chef's, so the size difference aside hopefully it's an easy comparison to the vital since they're similiar in profile. Good to know about the thinner handle, I adored the shape of the Vitals handle but the weight was a major issue so I'll look forward to a more blade forward COB I hope. It looks like it has more of a flat spot towards the front compared to the vital, closer to a gyutou or sabatier, would you say that's accurate in person? I'm mostly a pinch gripper, primarily push and pull cuts with some rock chopping for herbs, so I like the sounds of bits being crowned. Also I'm not certain if you do the write up or can edit the description, but there's an error " Ergonomically crafted from G-10, the handle is smooth and grippy, with three polished stainless steel bolsters to hold it together. " I believe that's meant to be three polished stainless steel pins to hold it together. Thanks again!
NaftoorYou are right on the shape. It sores have a flatter profile. I hope you like it, please email me at depstein@apogeeculinary.com when you get it.
Hi everyone! As promised I’m attempting to correct my typos. Thank you for considering this drop. This is the first product we are launching under our name from our Chinese factory. Already, I can see I’m not going to be able to use the Dragon name without causing confusion. I‘m open to suggestions. Why China? Two reasons, first Japan has had and continues to have a shortage of Japanese knives. I just spent the last week in Japan and hopefully we have made some headway. Japanese product, also commands a premium price. These knives are defiantly created to show a value. The difference between the the two is that the Japanese product uses Micarta for the handle and these use G10. The Japanese product also uses 3mm stock and these use 2.5mm stock, so they are lighter. We we are excited to have Massdrop as our launching partner, and they are definitely offering a great deal. We hope you love them.
