I got this at the last drop and like the Brewshucker. The bottle opener function is barely noticeable in hand when shucking but certainly appreciated when needed. I have many different shuckers and like to have a variety on hand for different oysters. The fact that this shucker has a bottle opener will probably make it into my foodie car kit for the convenience alone.
I still have yet to get the hang of using the Kraken but that is most likely not the fault of the product but of my impatience to get everything out of the shell quickly. The user video another Massdropper posted was very helpful.
leemurAs the owner of the company, I thank you so much for the review.

I've seen this before, but wanted to comment. One knife - $2.75 shipping. Add a second knife and shipping goes to $6.75. I can accept that maybe doubling the shipping MIGHT be in order, but charging $4 additional to put a second knife in the same box?
ranger67Hey @ranger67, @WLVA,
Thanks for flagging this! I was able to work with our logistics team to be able to offer a more reasonable shipping price for quantities greater than one for the next drop.

I eat lobster and crab but rarely oysters, so I'm considering the Kraken. Does it come with a sheath? If not, could someone recommend one?
WLVAI'm afraid it doesnt come with a sheath. It isn't really sharp enough to cut you, unless you jam it into your hand. I keep mine in the gadget drawer.

Deaomega1214OK, good to know. I'm planning on bringing mine to lobster pounds, crab shacks, and other restaurants, so I'll have to figure out a way to carry it around (and also not forget it while I'm out!).

saddly this dangerous mass destruction weapon can't be shipped out of USA ...
I always feel that facts should be considered over theory. The facts are, as the manufacturer of this product, we have shipped thousands of pieces across the country, and have never had a single complaint or return. The product works great. It opens oysters safely, and the bottle opener never gets in the way. It also does a great job with that task as well. It is easy to look at a product and theorize about what might happen. However don't you think it would be more fair to offer a review based on actually trying it? If you want to advise people that they should always wear a glove regardless, based on real experience, then that I would consider to be valuable advice. But criticizing a product you haven't tried isn't nice.

You could have avoided this entire conversation had you just started with the beginning of your fourth paragraph. It contradicts everything you've been saying. Instead, you chose to argue with a potential customer in an open forum where people come to discuss the products. This isn't a review board. A massdrop member comes on here with concerns about a feature of the product and you proceed to slander him for voicing his concerns. Here's a text you might find useful. https://goo.gl/VLYkA0
chadddcYou win I'm done. This horse has been beaten enough. I think we both made our points. Be well.

International shipping? Or are these categorized under WMDs and can't be shipped abroad.
