So it seems like my aTV is already broken, but not physically. It doesn't take swiping or button input until the 3rd or 4th restart. That happening to anyone else?

Why would you put a glass face on a remote? To create a "premium" feel at the cost of fragility? I've seen a few dozen people using phones with broken screens over the past seven years or so, and 100% of them was an iPhone. Literally 100%. I don't think that's a coincidence. And how much more often will a remote be dropped than a phone?
Hasn't Apple learned their lesson from all the people bringing in their phones to have an (overpriced) replacement installed? I suppose a cynic might say they've more than learned their lesson: Glass components --> more breakage --> more revenue. But I'm not that cynical. :P
gibbousmoonYou must not know many people as a I.T. Specialist I have seen just as many Android phones with broken screens. There is a lot of Android phones with glass as well.
DOCZWell, we're both a sample of one (even if you are a better sample), so the data is not that important. You are definitely right that glass is becoming more popular among other phone makers as well (who are copying Apple's bad decision). The latest Galaxy Note, for example.
But something "feeling" like it is higher quality does not make it higher quality. Using glass in an object likely to be dropped frequently is a horrible decision.
If you told me that you see just as many non-glass broken screens as glass ones, your rebuttal would be more pertinent. Are you an Apple fan? My post wasn't anti-Apple so much as it was anti-glass (in a phone and most DEFINITELY in a TV remote!).
This is going to sounds random but you can actually get a 64gb for cheaper than this at RadioShack. Current sale price 169.99, goes u til the 23 of June. Hope this helps someone. Other than that good luck dropping
the "original versions" still require a computer on the network to be running itunes in order to access a multimedia storage server. Did this NEW version fix that so you can forgo the other computer and connect directly to the multimedia storage server on the network?
rbrjr1http://www.apple.com/tv/compare/ I would assume since the 4th gen (this drop) has access to the app store, it would not need another computer/tablet running on the network to function
