Are these official Apple keyboards or off-brand that look identical?

geebruThe model name is indeed indicating this is official apple majic keyboard.
But this is first generation's first revision meaning instead of launch pad and mission control button it has expose and dashboard button.

geebruThe item number indicates it's the real thing, but it's the older version of the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard. MC184LL/A was the original. MC184LL/B is the one that's recently been superceded by the Apple Magic Keyboard. I rather like the feel of these, but the MassDrop price on these ones isn't so good. $50-$60 is what I'd expect to pay for a new and sealed version of this keyboard.

hyperlinkedI concur on the price. I purchased the MC184LL/B at Fry's for $21.25 + tax = $23.38 (http://www.frys.com/product/7527906). I looked up what the difference between /A and /B and found this answer from the Apple community: It was updated for Lion. The Exposé and dashboard keys have been swapped for Launchpad and Mission Control. (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3230388?tstart=0). MacSales has this same model (/A) for $36.75 (https://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/MC184LLAA/), but is more expensive than Fry's for the /B model, that is why I went with the /B at Fry's, and Fyr's is a local store and saving over $13.

lifehackerWell to be fair, the Fry's deal was very limited and not eligible for shipping and the one being offered by MacSales is a used unit. You must be in Washington state? As of right now, the only Fry's that has the MC184LL/B keyboard listed for sale in any form is in Renton, WA. It's also uncertain as to whether they really have special items in stock. I've had and heard of others having mixed results with going to redeem an insanely good deal only to be told when they got there that they couldn't find the item in the store.
I've found one other MassDrop item going for a drastically lower price at Fry's, but under the same conditions. It was only available for direct pick-up and only three locations had it. Someone here tried to go get the item and was told they didn't have any.
Anyway, I just picked up a brand new and sealed MC184LL/B off of an eBay seller for $30. That seems to be a pretty good deal for one that's new-in-box and sealed, but it's pretty easy to find something for around $30 that's used and in excellent condition.
I'm normally a bit of a mechanical keyboard snob, but I'm very fond of this particular Apple keyboard and I now have three of them. Two are stowed away as backups just in case these become harder to come by in the future.
I have a new 2016 MBP with touchbar and I often use this instead of the built in keyboard. I'm ok with the new MBP keyboard and actually like it better than most recent MBP keyboards, but still prefer the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard for extended typing if I'm away from my desk. One nice thing about the touchbar and the flatter keys of the new MBP is that they form the perfect groove to allow you to drop one of these Bluetooth Keyboards right on top without it slipping down during use. You lose a bit of the touchpad, but not enough for it to be a serious hinderance. On my old mid-2012 unibody MBP, I had to tack on foam strips to my MBP to keep the keyboard from sliding down during use.

hyperlinkedYes, I am in Renton, WA. I must have lucked out. I was able to acquire one with no issues. I have a Microsoft BT KB, but prefer the feel of the Apple BT KB better (for work). Wanted a good cheap KB, that if taken, not too much of a hit in the pocket. I am typing on a HHKP2 at home and my fingers thank me. Good to know about the new MBP. Been eyeing those. More than likely will sway to replace my aging MacBook White. Good you were able to get one at a decent price. Nothing worse in buying something you thing was a bargain and finding out the bargain was not a bargain.
