It’s not often you see a dive watch with an open heart—let alone one that actually carries a legitimate water-resistance rating. New from Aquacy, the Cave Diver Open-Heart Automatic Watch toes the line between performance and sophistication Read More

I'm wearing the Aquacy Cave Diver for the first time today. Clean, polished look overall. Open heart is awesome. Love the movement. Very unique features. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those watches that has to grow on me so I'm committing to wearing it in the rotation. The following first impressions are not necessarily negatives. The strap will need some breaking in as it is stiffer and thicker than most traditional straps. The buckle is proportionally wide, oversized and is visually awkward compared to the rest of the watch. The case sits up high on the wrist, which I'm not used to. It is too early to rate this watch. I think it has a cool story behind it and a unique place in a watch collection for someone buying on the cheap and enjoying the hobby. I have the dark blue dial model. I paid $20 on Watch Gang for a Mystery Gift Purchase that turned out to be 150 points, which I used to spin the Wheel of Watches. This was a Tier 2 watch that I won. Not endorsing Watch Gang... I have a Black Membership set up quarterly for $99... so far, I've spent $119 and have 2 decent automatic watches retailed at $1,050 combined... just saying.

I was interested in buying one. I’m a sucker for divers and the Abalone dial on a diver seemed interesting. After reading the discussions, I “wised up”. The seamed dial issue wasn’t handled well by the watch company. I’m certain that the simple replacement of the watch would have been far less expensive than the ongoing loss of potential customers. The vultures who haunt this place to bury us with their opinions and sage advice had far less impact on my decision to pass. Those with no lives tending to harangue the boards who have an opinion and trash talk about everything get quickly discounted in my eyes. That said, the continued battle between the Drop moderator and the watch vendor doesn’t send good vibes for any product offering. I thank the trolls, the ongoing battle between Drop moderator and Aquatics rep, and the apparent vendors disregard for a customers complaint, for helping me decide. Too bad. Looks like a cool watch that might have had a place in my collection. I’ll head to LIW and buy one of the Phoibos Abalone divers when they are back in stock.

Hahah sounds a lot like a party to me, sadly I missed it all, oh well, maybe if (that’s a big if) they allow them to Drop that watch again then I will be in attendance lol
