Done in a classic diver style, the JS9 is bold, rugged, and ready for a night on the town or a dunk in the pool. This particular model scales down the overall size to a wrist-friendly 41 millimeters (as opposed to the 44-millimeter models made originally). The dial has all the cues you’d expect in a diver, with indices that are split in two for a unique twist. The hands are extra thick and lumed for visibility. Rotate the ceramic bezel and set it to the minutes hand if you need to time something. Beneath the handsome exterior lies an automatic SW-200 (or ETA 2824-2) movement. For materials, Armand Nicolet spared no expense. Fitted with a stainless steel case and sapphire crystal, the JS9 is water resistant to a whopping 300 meters.

In 1875 begins the story of Armand Nicolet, where, under his father, the founder of the same name started his watchmaking apprenticeship in the mountain village of Tramelan, Switzerland. In 1902, having demonstrated significant improvement in the trade, Nicolet created his first watch—an automatic rose-gold pocket watch fully loaded with a calendar and chronograph. After over a century of Swiss watchmaking tradition, Armand Nicolet continues to thrive as a boutique watchmaker dedicated to reproducing the timeless designs of old with respect to the modern world’s needs.
