A clean display of Swiss craftsmanship, the Armand Nicolet MA2 dons large, stylized Arabic numerals at the cardinal hours that draw the eye. Between them are solid stick markers and a date window tucked between 4 and 5 o’clock. To frame the dial, there’s a coin-edged unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel—black on the white and black versions and blue on the blue version. The engine of the watch is a 26-jewel Swiss mechanical movement that’s visible on the backside of the case through the display caseback. Rounding out the timepiece is a comfy leather strap and a water-resistance rating of 100 meters.

In 1875 begins the story of Armand Nicolet, where, under his father, the founder of the same name started his watchmaking apprenticeship in the mountain village of Tramelan, Switzerland. In 1902, having demonstrated significant improvement in the trade, Nicolet created his first watch—an automatic rose-gold pocket watch fully loaded with a calendar and chronograph. After over a century of Swiss watchmaking tradition, Armand Nicolet continues to thrive as a boutique watchmaker dedicated to reproducing the timeless designs of old with respect to the modern world’s needs.
