What's the weight of the wool? 24oz? 32oz?

Hard to determine sizing if they just provide the chest size. Would be nice to know coat length and sleeve length as well as actual measurement of the chest. That way people can decide whether they need to size up if they plan to layer.

JacenNo need to size up if you want to layer, your regular size will be ok. This is a `authentic` pea coat which means it fits a bit larger so you can put a (fairly) thick pullover below. Armorlux makes high-quality wool apparels which are very durable. My grandpa still owns some he bought when in his 30s. My pullovers still look brand new even though I have those for years.

I agree with you that the fit on the Saint James is a bit boxy. This is the perfect sweet spot between true heritage construction from a company that has been making these for a very long time and for the true end use, as well as an updated silhouette that looks good with everyday style.

Man, I wish I could try these out before buying. I'm very wary of purchasing clothes and shoes from Massdrop. It almost never works out for me. Pity it's a great coat.

Well, you can't return them either, which is a shame. Their business model carries almost no risk to them, which is smart but it's hit or miss for customers and suppliers.

SurefireI found they are a quite traditional "comfort" fit. Take one size smaller than your standard chest size if you want a more "slim-fit" look and don't intend on wearing very thick woollen jumpers underneath.
