tch04It's 100% wool, felted and quite dense. Think it's called melton wool. Good water resistance and wind-breaking capacity. I've been wearing it as a winter coat with no issues.

STF13Can you elaborate on what other peacoats you have compared it too?

JacenThe other main contenders were the Schott 740N and the Saint-James Gallion. I tried a number of others (Superdry etc) and they just looked tacky and felt cheap. The advantage of the Schott was also it's downside, namely the nylon (or acrylic, I don't remember). It felt like it would last longer and keep warmer, but felt a bit cheap IMHO. The Saint-James was also 100%melton wool, but the cut looked a bit "boxy".

STF13I agree with you that the fit on the Saint James is a bit boxy. This is the perfect sweet spot between true heritage construction from a company that has been making these for a very long time and for the true end use, as well as an updated silhouette that looks good with everyday style.
