God I love this company! If I had known about them earlier, I would have bought my gaming chair from them, too! I bought the blue desk when this drop first came out. Still a little salty that those who waited got the back one I really wanted, but I still love mine nonetheless! Can't wait to see what goodies Arozzi has for sale in 30 years or so when I need new gaming furniture!

sumphatguyGlad to hear the desk seems like it'll last for a long time. As I mentioned in my post, the one thing that threw me off was how short the warranty was compared to all of these gaming companies coming out with identical chairs. I'd think a desk would be a safer bet to warranty than a chair. Can't wait until I move mid-August so I can set this up when it arrives.
GaleForceAlmost all the gaming chair companies also have two year warranties. I actually only know of one that has a longer one--granted it is one that is here on Massdrop a lot which may make it seem like it is more common. So on that point I am little confused. But thanks for the other positive feedback.

ArozziScottDon't take it as negative feedback. You know the industry norms better than I do. Although my point would still be valid about a desk being a safer bet than a chair, so a longer than 2 year warranty would make sense to me. But 2 years is a solid amount of time and I'd also assume if anything broke from a defect it would be in that period as well. I'm just the type to list out pros and cons, and if the only con I can find ahead of time (after taking a look at the product on different sites and reading reviews), for me, is the warranty than I am really reaching to find one. That said, given that the build quality seems great by what everyone says I doubt I have anything to worry about. People also say the customer support is great, and given that we have you on the discussion is always a good sign. I'm really looking forward to receiving the desk... I was just at the new house measuring the room it's going to go in (along with other furniture) and it's going to work out great. I should be in by the end of August at the latest so, as i said, this couldn't have been timed better for me.
GaleForceYes, I understand that for many consumers the warranty has evolved to become some sort of guarantee of life expectancy for the product. But that is not the original intent of warranties. In the early days of mass production, and really until today, it became clear that to be able to mass produce goods and get the price to the desirable level to maximize sales and still make a reasonable profit, some amount of defective products were going to be part of the process. The acceptable percentage of "defects" has greatly decreased over the years as production techniques have evolved and become more automated. Now I think under 1% is the accepted standard.
So the warranty was/is a way to insure that the unlucky few who get the defects in mass produced items are taken care of. For years most electronics had a 90 day warranty for parts. Why? Because in the transistor era if a part was going to fail, it was almost certain to do so in the first 100 hours of use...after that you were good. So a 90 day warranty made perfect sense and maybe still does for electronics. The fact is, from a manufacturer's point of view a longer warranty is essentially a marketing ploy. Yes, you will have some extra expense from those few units that actually really fail in the later years but that is a small cost in the large scheme.
So, we really think that two years is a decent industry standard and covers all true defects in materials and workmanship, which is the point of a warranty. Normal wear and tear are never covered by any company and life expectancy is also on the consumer to properly use and maintain their purchase. You know, like changing the oil in your car.

ArozziScottAll I could think of was this scene from Tommy Boy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEB7WbTTlu4
And you (and the scene) bring up a good point, which is that a quality product from a good company it really doesn't matter unless you get something defective and have to swap it out (in which case you're going to use the warranty early on). And I agree with that, for the most part. The one exception is that in a globalized economy that has tons of businesses springing up because of the ease-of-access to many of the same manufacturing materials/parts/etc. that only larger companies used to have access to, and let's not use euphemisms here for the most part I'm talking about access to cheap Chinese-produced materials/parts, a lot of companies don't stand behind their products like they used to. They either pour money into marketing and let quality and QC slip (a company like Razer comes to mind) or they're just competing in a race to the bottom and selling online or in B&Ms trying to compete on price. I think we're all probably guilty of being in a Walmart or another B&M every so often and just grabbing something because it's cheap. I did it just the other day in the hardware section to grab some bins to organize some small electronics I have (because, well, they're plastic bins).
Do I think your company engages in this practice? No, not at all. I wouldn't have spent money on your product if I thought so. When we're online and we have access to reviews and such, there's a ton of information at our fingertips and we can do all the research we want. But before I knew anything about your company/product, I definitely looked at the warranty precisely because of this race to the bottom I mentioned. I think maybe my comments put a little too much emphasis on that as a downside, but like I said I was reaching for one and despite any arguments it's not like a longer warranty would be a bad thing (as a consumer).
