How is this desk compared to the Ikea Galant? I've had a Galant (newer model) for a couple years and absolutely hate it due to the wobble, uneven adjustment (no notches, tough to align both sides evenly), and how uncomfortable the tabletop feels on my forearms. Hoping this desk will address these issues. Seems like a gold price at $300.

alexmr55I don't know the Ikea product directly and it appears they no longer offer it.. But I will make a few points.
Some community members have compared this a few times (way down in this thread )to the Ikea Bekant desk. And also make the price comparison. So maybe you can overlook that our desk comes with a full surface, washable mousepad, has cable management and monitor arm mounting capability in addition to being a very stable and solid desk (net weight is 85 lbs).
When you buy this at Massdrop, it gets delivered to your door for no extra charge. I offer you to visit Ikea's website and see how much they charge for delivery.
So, it really pays to make an apples-to-apples comparison. Sure if you live within easy driving distance of an Ikea and don't mind the crowds and hassle you might be able to save a few bucks for less fully-featured item. But there is nothing like an Arena out there in the market and there is also nothing like the convenience of having it delivered to your door.
