What's the consensus on these vs similar offerings from AkRacing, Vertagear, etc ?

dphjrI'll let others speak about those other brands. I will just say that these chairs have sold competitively at their regular $299 and $349 retails for over a year now. The prices in this drop are really an incredible value.

ArozziScottHow does the firmness of this chair compare to the other brands? I'd like something relatively firm for back support, but soft enough that I can sit for a few hours without soreness/other issues. I've sat in an AKracing nitro chair before and thought it was too firm for my liking.

dphjrHi, again, I generally don't speak of other brands but I did see on another Massdrop forum that a couple of people thought the AKRacing lumbar pillow was too stiff out of the box.  Ours is a bit smaller than theirs and should be more comfortable than theirs. We also use a little lower density foam in the backrest making it a bit softer from the beginning.

ArozziScottThank you for all the responses. One final question: Are the armrests a hard or soft material, and can they be tilted in/out as well as vertically?

dphjrYou're welcome.  The armrests move up and down only. That's pretty standard at this price range. I would say the armrests are not soft.
