No doubt it is a record eater. But, I ordered one as a decoration and conversation piece. I think it is well worth $79 for that alone. Throw an old beater record on it and watch your guests get a bang out of it. And, I think it will be a fun project to mod it such that it won't eat records. I hope a couple more people chip in and make the drop successful.
Glad to see MD has finally decided to start offering higher-end audio options for those of us who are true Audiophiles, and don't mind spending serious cash for this level of quality--some of us had nearly given up hope.
Again terrible brand WILL DESTROY YOUR RECORD. You see that red cartridge there yep that thing will eat them up. Not even Marshall's in the USA could sell them. We actually destroy 3 of them because they won't sell.
Okay, I get it: this is a toy for dumb hipster kids, but for crying out loud, why does it support 78 RPM?! What kind of retarded idiot one needs to be to play a vintage record on THIS?!
iatsbohdanThe only use I see for this is for some underground hipsters to play dubstep on "vintage gear". Neither dubstep on vinyls nor this, umm, device make any sense.
Grab it as decor and play your vinyl on something better. Throw a crate find on for looks, but don't use it other than for looks or a Bluetooth speaker.
strangenavastay away from all in ones. im not even a snob for audio equipment. it wont damage your records in a couple plays like some people will claim, but they do sound like hot garbage with very bad build quality. you are paying $130 for a vertical crosley cruiser which itself is a $100 rebranded $20 Chinese player.
if you are looking for an affordable record player / hifi setup there are tons of options and guides online. on youtube, Techmoan just put out a series on the topic before christmas, and VWestLife is another one that "debunks" audiofile BS while giving good recomendations for affordable hifi.
