Love the smooth texture of the caps. Great thickness of the PBT, decent legend sharpness. For $45 I would be hard-pressed to find anything better. Would love to see some other kits in the future, with some better compatibility (e.g. mini spacebars).
geckovisionCase was a custom order from p3dstore. Mine has a color swap that I think he doesn't do anymore, but he has a ton of newer case options that might fit your needs.
I picked up a set of Matcha Mango keycaps from the same Artifact Bloom Series for the my Keychron K6. After picking up an Epomaker GK96S for work, I knew I wanted keycaps that would give me the same feel. I wanted the keys to stand out, but not be too loud, so these 9009 style caps seemed to be the perfect way to go. After a month of daily use, the keys still feel as velvety and the acoustics are just as good as the other set. These will likely end up permanently living on my GK.
Upon receiving they were well packaged with no visual defects to my initial inspection of the set. No physical warping as well on the mods/space bar. I am definitely happy with this purchase to put on one of my keebs. Definitely a solid alternative if you do not want to pay the money yet for a GMK set.
Don't get me wrong, the keycap are nice. However I was sent a kit with a broken stem on the enter key. I contacted support to get a replacement sent to me and was given 3 options:
1.) Get $10 returned to my card and keep the kit as is,
2.) Get $15 added to my Drop Account and keep the kit as is,
3.) Send back the whole kit back and wait until they have enough in stock to send me a new one.
At first I asked why they couldn't just send me 1 replacement key as it would've been a massive hassle to repackag the whole kit, go to the post office, send it out and wait X amount of time before they can send me a new one.
Apparently this couldn't be arranged, so I asked them to instead of adding $15 to my Drop account to just send me the $12 green accent keycaps that they currently have in stock. The customer support representative said that this was not one of the options listed above and wouldn't be able to do that either, which makes no sense considering the product I wanted was below the $15 credit they want to give to my account. Maybe they just don't want to cover shipping costs out of pocket?
Regardless, I probably will not be buying anymore keycaps from Drop if this is the kind of customer support I receive after being shipped a product that came to me broken.
Update: The $15 dollar credit wasn't even enough to purchase the $12 accent keys due to a $5 shipping fee. I will be requesting to get the $10 returned to my card.
Not the type of guy who writes reviews, but the custmer service annoys me.
First thing first, I liked the keycaps: good smooth finish, clean look, etc. Should be a solid set at this price.
However, the QC is not ideal. I met two issues:
The stem on the space bar is so loose that if you type on it not in the perfect center, the space will be lifted up towards one direction...had to constantly push it back into place, over and over after like 10 mins use;
I also had the broken stem issue with at least two of others mentioned here below. I believe they should have received replacement, either keycaps, or the whole keyset, not sure.
Reached out to the customer service of the drop, waited for a week for her to confirm with their product team whether this is a known issue. And here is the feedback I received:
"My product team let me know that this stem isn't known to crack.
For loose stems, you can put a small piece of cling warp around the stabilizer stems to add more tolerance.
..."
Isn't known to crack? I literately sent the screen shots about others complaining the same broken stem issue on this very page. They really should try to find a better excuse, or at least delete the reviews from the backend first.
So bottom line, 0 recommendation for the customer service. For the keycap set, would give my recommendation only if they solve the QC issues. Will NEVER buy from Drop again unless they show a tiny bit of respect to the customers.
I really like the feel and color of these keycaps. They have a nice smooth finish that is very pleasant to type on, and the color looks awesome on a black keyboard!
As for issues, they fit extremely tight on the switch stems. The single keys aren't too bad, but it's really hard to get the stabilized keys on correctly. Also, a lot of the stems don't seem to be centered correctly on the keycaps. With all the caps on my keyboard, some keys are very close together with basically no gap, and others have big gaps. It doesn't affect the typing experience, but once you see it you can't ignore it. You can actually see this in the promo images on this page, but I never noticed it till I got them myself.
Update: Also, the Esc key that came with my set is beige instead of pink. Not a huge deal to me, but I don't understand how they messed up the color...
I have a set of $35 PBT die sub keycaps from Amazon that are higher quality, but that set doesn't offer the compatibility or colors offered here. If you're buying for a full size or TKL, I think you can get better quality for less money elsewhere, but if you need the compatibility or just have to have these colors then it's pretty good.
Pretty decent quality. Would pay more for a few more accents.
Legends are pretty sharp. Almost as sharp as EPBT but not quite especially on the smaller legends on the mods. They feel pretty good. Nice and thick and have nice PBT thock. I'm impressed for the price. These require a surprising amount of force to fully seat on my gateron yellow stems. Like "am I going to break things if I keep doing" this amount of force.
Looks great and feels awesome, but seems like there is a qc issue?
These keycaps look really nice and feel very smooth. I thought they were pretty great for the price, but perhaps the material is brittle or there is a quality control issue, since it seems like I am not the only one with this issue. The stem for my 1.5u Alt key just fell apart as I was putting it on. I contacted Drop and they had me send back the whole kit. They are going to send me a replacement kit, but I am a bit worried that the new kit would have the same issue with other keys. Fingers crossed.
EDIT:
Got my replacement from Drop. No broken stems that I have discovered so far.
Like I said initially this set feels very smooth and sounds really nice too.
As long as there isn't anything broken, definitely well worth the money.
Hear me out; these keycaps seem to be really good quality even if I can't speak to their longevity, but the softness of them pleasantly surprised me so much. I cannot stress this enough. They are so smooth and soft.
