Designed by Ray Laconico, the Artisan Centauri is cut from a different cloth. Unlike a traditional flipper tab, it features a flipper that’s built into the spine of the blade, which opens by rolling a thumb over the jimped tang (similar to how you’d ignite a lighter) Read More
AdamBI was considering getting the smaller version as well, the micarta with s35vn
With the pricing on this one here, i don't expect it would be a great discount if they ever do offer it
They have it over at Whitemountainknives.com for about $161 after LTK coupon code
I have been waiting for Drop to offer this one, but not at the same price as everywhere else without the 1.5 months wait...
I was hopping for a $150 price range. Oh well... saves me money.
Might be worth it for people outside of North America I guess.
First Class does not have tracking and these days, that is a very risky proposition due long, long delays resulting from the Covid cataclysm in the USA (USPS recently lost a package I had in transit, with two slipjoints in the package, worth $200 - unless someone at USPS stole it). Drop uses DHL, I've been very happy with this service in the past, paid duties a few times, but most time I got my package with no extra costs.
In my mind - and please rest assured I'm not trolling you, just discussing - any saving around 15% makes something competitive, meaning worthy of consideration when compared to others. I agree, that is not "a steal" or a "great deal", especially with the waiting period, but usually I'm happy to get 15% savings, as any savings help these days.
Totally agree, for a US based buyer, it's not a particularly great deal... Now if this was $149 here on Drop, plus the lower shipping cost, then it would indeed be an incredible deal for everyone!
BladeHQ offers free shipping on orders over $99. However, another shop local to me, BladeOps, offers free shipping on all orders. I'm not sure if that's for all of North America or just the continental US. BladeOps is much smaller an operation than BHQ, but they have just as good, and sometimes better, inventory on the big names--Benchmade, Pro-Tech, Spyderco, ZT, Mircrotech, Boker, etc. And they recently began carrying Artisan, as well as Kizer, We, and Civivi.
Both place's storefronts are closed indefinitely and I've been so spoiled by being able to actually handle a knife before buying it, and not having to wait a week+ to get it, the closed knife shop storefronts are saving me a lot of money.
