It’s no debate where the Eagle from Artisan Cutlery gets its name. Designed with a menacing hawkbill-tanto-hybrid blade shape, it looks like the talons on the large bird of prey Read More
GrunkleYes, Drop is famous for their frequent inaccurate product descriptions, and their lack of concern enough to fix them, even if called to their attention on the first day of a products’s listing. I have called many to their attention and NONE have ever been fixed during their listing timeframes. Products are then often re-listed again with the same description errors. It’s rather pathetic...
So the knife is cool and seems to hold an edge well, I got the orange one because I liked the weirdness. Pocket clip really sucks and mine has snapped. Does anyone know of a decent replacement?
The carbon fiber scale looks to be G10 with a layer of CF on top, rather than an actual full CF scale. It's not uncommon in these cheap knives, but they want $14 for it.
IonicPulseI just received mine and it looks like one solid piece to me... either that or they are VERY good at machining the edges to hide any layering. Sure would be nice for MD or AC to confirm however. /shrug
IonicPulseLook at the pictures of a G10 and a CF scale, where they are milled out for the pivot screw. You will need to enlarge the picture a bit to make your inspection easier, so use a tablet if you have one. In that milled out section on both scales they are identical in pattern and color consistency, although different colors. When milled down, the CF scale has no color pattern, just the same texture as the G10 scale. The CF is a Peel Ply laminated on top of G10, just like Spyderco uses so much of. Those tiny pieces of shelving paper on top of the G10 are not worth $14 IMO.
