I don't see any reason why this would be better than a $10 steelseries mousepad, which in my opinion is amazing

Lars330If the SteelSeries one works for you, then stick with it.
I used to have a SteelSeries QcK+ but switched over to an Artisan Kai Hien a few years ago after hearing about the hype.
No regrets.
Pad is great, thickness is nice, never slipped on me once. (I had the QcK bunch up a few times during intense gaming sessions; not so with this one.) The tracking is amazing with great glide for a cloth pad. Smoother than the QcK and definitely a lot more durable.
From what I hear, the Hayate is a lot better and at this price I'm finding it hard to resist even though my Hien is still in very good condition despite it being years old.
