A bit more detail in the keycap would've been nice. My particular sample had a bit too much of teh fog effect added in, making it hard to see the rest of the detail.
It is cute but the resin used doesn't seem to feel too great: it might be due to the shape of the key, which is oddly flat for an SA R1 profile, especially when placed next to some other artisans' caps that feels... way better to the eye and finger.
I still like it and am happy with, and would recommend it to a friend, but as a lower quality piece than some other ones.
Lots of delays with this drop had me on the fence whether or not this cap would actually be any good. I decided not to cancel the order and see it through since the money was already spent.
The packaging is pretty neat, it comes in a small wooden box with some foam inside. The cap itself is polished very well and is nice and clear with a nice blue tint around the islands. I have not mounted the cap as I don't have any current boards with SA caps but I would imagine that shine thru LEDs would look great.
I ordered this on a whim, and I am just extremely impressed by it. It is intricate and beautiful, and the switch LED’s light diffuses through it. Because it’s a normal SA R1 shape, it is fully usable as a key (as opposed to the weird, misshapen things that seem purely decorative).
I’m glad this has re-dropped; I’ve just ordered the other two.
