Anybody have any idea what's going to come in the box, besides the knife itself of course? I'm wondering if they still include their proprietary "key" for loosening the pivot even though they've switched over to a T8 pivot.

What color is the ring on the blue handle? Can't tell if it's pinkish or copper...

This is really a variation of san mai rather than damascus. Widely used in Japanese kitchen knives. Makes great slicing blades, holds an edge, and resists corrosion.

I love my Tomahawk! Good flipper, and you can feel it lock into place. It releases a little light off the detint due to the weight of the blade, so it takes thought full force. Mine has never missed locked up. Its a great reverse deploy-er, and it can be performed in a fluid motion to a strike with some practice. Like Randomsmack said, it closes without mercy, so pay attention when your first getting started with it, as the weight of the blade alone can cause serious injury. The one I have is in D2 steel, and it has held a great edge, and with a touch up from a strop every now and then, it will keep that edge well. This one being a VG10 Folded steel (Folded as the real Damascus steel recipe went the way side many years ago), should do a good job too, given that its done right (Which from the Pic looks to be the case). I would highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a good size folder, with a great cutting edge that doesn't compromise on control. When you open this thing for the first time, you will smile! (Unless you short stroke it and the blade falls back on your hand, so show it who's boss!)

My biggest problem with this style of "damascus" is its really more a finish than a damascus blade there is a Boker in the drops right now same deal it's a vg10 blade sandwiched in a shell of "damascus" I'll take damasteel modern powdered equivalent any day over it it's not folded in true fashion but as you said true fashion is lost to history.

The tomahawk knife flips very well due to its heavy blade and ceramic ball bearings, a pull on the flipper tab and it flies open quickly... But also when closing the heavy blade shuts like a guillotine ,so get your fingers out of the way... Easy to master tho.

How well does Artisan Cutlery's folders flip? I'm a bit spoiled by Kershaw and it's hard not to every day carry a folder that doesn't flip fast and easy.

I would already own one if they had a different logo. Just too close to a certain something... I can't unsee it and I can't get past it.

I have a Tomahawk with G10 handles and I haven't had any issues with overtravel. I really like the blade shape and the opening is smooth. I have medium sized hands and haven't had any issues with having enough grip.
